The Holikotsaw this year was never like before. At 5, while preparing morning tea, the true purpose of Holi struck me. To burn the negativity, what else? ...What do I do tonight?
Just a month earlier, I, after some deliberation, had sort of rejected a boon granted to me. It was an intense desire I asked off God.....one since several weeks. Declining a fulfillment is one thing; and burning quite another.

Power of Goal Realization....Power of NOW

The first necessary prerequisite for realizing any goal is to possess the right intellect or frame of mind. The rest would follow naturally and logically once this first prerequisite is fulfilled. This is the hardest and the most critical step.

We need not even refer to Vedas or any other scholarly book to understand this. We just need to look around in our world. All things – good or bad, great or not-so-great – that mankind has ever achieved till date was only an idea in someone’s mind at one point of time. The right application of intellect alone transformed that intangible idea into electronic gadgets, engines, vehicles, rockets, computers, spaceships, rules of society, laws of the country, codes of ethics, books of knowledge, arts, philosophies,…..,…,… the list is endless, which is the reality around us.

Once this intellect is there, all the raw material for fulfillment of our prayers aka goals are already in place.

So the question comes, how soon can I acquire that intellect so that I can move on to the next step?

This mantra from Yajurved, as mentioned above, gives that answer. It categorically states that, regardless of your past deeds or misdeeds, level of knowledge or ignorance, capabilities or incapabilities, performance or failure, and everything else you have or do not have, you can acquire that intellect RIGHT NOW!

One of the mantras from Shiv Sankalp sukta of Yajurveda elaborates it further by saying that the essence of all the Vedas are already inside you.

Thus, that intellect is already there with us from the same instant as we desire it. Its an instantaneous process. And its a fair process. As much of intellect as we desire, and with as much intensity, in exactly the same proportion is the intellect being made available for us.

Role of God...Happiness & Sorrow

if you want bliss, you are trying for it but unless someone other than you, who is the source of this bliss exists, we cant achieve it. This source of bliss and knowledge is called Eeshvar in Vedas.

......... It is not about reward or punishment at all. Eeshvar’s aim is to help us attain Moksha. Thus this whole Law of Karma is the part of the same. Whatever Karma we do, it leaves its Sanskaar behind, on the soul. When a soul does bad, its “Kusanskaaras” or evil impressions further try to deviate soul away from Moksha path. To get rid of these impressions, we need to undergo certain conditions, which are controlled by Eeshvar so that undesired Sanskaaras can be eradicated. These conditions, being painful, look punishment to us, but these are essential. Its just like surgery, which gives pain but is essential to get the health back.

So please remember, all happiness and sorrow we feel are the result of our own deeds. In fact, sorrow and happiness are nothing but the essential stages in the path of attaining Moksha and the quality and quantity of sorrow and happiness etc depend upon the type of bad and good deeds we have done. We cant know when will we get the fruit of a particular Karma but it is clear that whatever we experience at any moment, it is the collective outcome of our deeds done till that moment.

Sanskaara & Salvation Moksh

Aatma (soul) carries “Sanskaars” (you may say these as imprints or thoughts but I dont think English language has any proper meaning for this) from previous births. It is not true that we get whatever we desire. In fact, whatever we do, its Sanskaras get deposited in the soul and they affect ones actions and thoughts further. If soul’s Sanskaaraas are helpful in getting Moksha (salvation), soul gets better and better environment, it is all controlled by Eeshvar. But if soul’s Sanskaaraas are such that they are deviating it from the path of bliss, Eeshvar limits it’s free will for sometime so that no new Sanskaar can enter the soul and older ones get eradicated. This way, soul comes into its neutral state in which it has free will again to do Karma and thus opportunity to try for Moksha. This process continues until Moksha is attained. Please remember that whole purpose of creation of this world is just to provide opportunities to get Moksha for souls. It is not just to fulfill all kind of desires for us. Of course, if desires are noble, Eeshvar will help because that is the part of the journey of Moksha.

Eeshvar, soul, and Prakriti (matter and energy) are three causes

there are two types of entities in the world. One is cause (Kaaran) and another is creation (Karya). Cause needs to be there before any creation, and hence is beginning less. Eeshvar, soul, and Prakriti (matter and energy) are three causes, they are never created, rather they need to be present before creation. So, soul is never created as it itself is the cause to others and is not a creation (Karya) of anything. We can take the example of science, in which energy is defined as "neither created nor destroyed". Similarly, Eeshvar and souls are also beginning less and immortal.

1. Every living has soul. Transmigration is always there for every soul.

2. Pranas are possessed by soul and they establish relationship between soul and body. So, one can say that Pranas are tools by which soul acts through the body. Pranas and soul are different.

3. Soul has no beginning and no end. In the state of Moksha, soul does not take incarnation in physical body. It remains in the state of absolute bliss provided by Eeshvar. However, there is a time limit to Moksha. After a long period of time, soul again comes to the cycle of birth and death and again tries for Moksha. So, in a way, there is another cycle, which exists, having Bandhan and Moksha alternatively.

4. There is nothing like destiny. as understood by most of the people. Actually, whatever we get in our life, it is all due to our past deeds. In this way, our destiny is decided by ourselves.

5. If one believes in such theories of cosmic effects and relates it with fate, it is simply denial from the existence of God. Either there would be Karma-Phal theory with God maintaining it or the theory of pre decided fate, with no one to control it. We believe in first one which is logical.

Soon all of us will be eating genetically contaminated food. The Cabinet has just approved the Biotechnology Regulatory Authority of India (BRAI) bill which will allow genetically modified food into the country. The bill can be tabled in the Parliament anytime.

The BRAI will be a body of technocrats whose decisions will remain unquestioned. Our state governments and people like us will not be able to question this body.

To stop this, Greenpeace, a civil society organisation working on varied issues including sustainable agriculture, is sending an open letter to the National Advisory Council (NAC) Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi. The letter asks her to make the Government re-draft this bill after consulting the public. I have already signed this letter and more signatures will make the case stronger.

Hi ,
This is exciting! Along with 187,759 people I signed a petition asking the Prime Minister to hold a public consultation before taking a decision on the nuclear liability bill. These petitions were delivered to the Standing Committee looking at the bill and now they have decided to hold a public consultation.

The bill in its current form lets the foreign corporations get away by paying a meagre amount in case of a nuclear accident in India. The major chunk of the expenses will be borne by the Indian tax payers. But now we have a chance to change this bill and make it stronger.

Greenpeace, an NGO working on this issue, has prepared an open letter which states the changes required in the bill. Just like the petition, this letter will stand a chance of being considered if lots of us sign it. We have less than two weeks to change the bill and prevent another Bhopal in the making.

Hi ,
This is unbelievable! Two Greenpeace activists Junicho Sato and Toru Suzuki, known as the Tokyo Two, are on trial and could face a prolonged jail term, simply for exposing large scale embezzlement and corruption with Japan's Whaling Programme.

Their trial has concluded and and the prosecution has demanded a year and six months imprisonment for them. This is the longest sentence ever demanded for Greenpeace activists in its history.

Whaling needs to be put on trial not those who fight it. Greenpeace is fighting to ensure that Junicho and Toru receive justice. I have already written a letter to the Japanese foreign minister asking him to spare the Tokyo Two and protect the whales.

Can you also write to the Japanese foreign minister?

Tomato Story

A Jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy' at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

'You are employed' he said. Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.

The man replied 'But I don't have a computer, neither an email'.

'I'm sorry', said the HR manager. If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job.'

The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate.
He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours,
he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the operation three times,
and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday.

Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US ...
He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.
When the conversation was concluded the broker asked him his email.
The man replied,'I don't have an email.'
The broker answered curiously, 'You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an e mail?!!' The man thought for a while and replied, 'Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!'

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.

"No", she replied. "He's out."

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.

"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"

The woman went out and invited the men in"

"We do not go into a House together," they replied.

"Why is that?" she asked.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How n ice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"

His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"

Their daughter was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"

"Let us heed our daughter's advice," said the husband to his wife.

"Go out and invite Love to be our guest."

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, t he lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"

The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!!! !"

That's because we are made of vibration, and everything we do and think creates a vibration. The sound of Aum or Amen, the "word of God," is the vibration of His consciousness that brought into manifestation this entire creation.

Of all the arts, music is the most immediate because it provides a direct transferal of feeling and experience. All music, in one way or another, opens the door to states of consciousness.

The question then arises, what kind of music do you normally listen to, and what effect does it have? Does it make you agitated or calm? Does it bring confusion and anxiety, or peace and understanding?

Confucius said, "Do you wish to know if a kingdom is well governed, if the morals of its inhabitants are good or bad? Look to the music that is current there." It is said of the Chinese emperors in ancient times that whenever they toured the provinces, they asked to listen to the music. They didn't look at the financial records. Nor did they inquire into the honesty of the officials. If the music was right, everything, so they believed, was as it should be. But if something was not right with the music, not only did this deficiency mean there was something wrong in those other areas of activity, but it was the music above all that needed correcting. Once that had been set right, everything else would improve also.

I have a friend who, like many people, had the habit of listening to the news as he drove to work. It was important, he felt, to know what's going on. As a result, however, he arrived at his workplace feeling unfocused and agitated – not a great way to start the day. After some time it occurred to him, "Maybe I would have a more successful day if I listened to uplifting music or an inspiring talk on my way to work." He tried the experiment, and it worked! Now he regularly starts his workday in a calm, positive state of mind that enhances his efforts throughout the day.

It's important to realize that in a very real sense, we are music. Scientists have found that every atom emits a certain sound. Without music (sound), life itself would cease to be.

Our lives, like music, can express harmony or disharmony. Each person needs to discover who he is and find his center within himself. From within, and in attunement with the inner Song of Creation, come the compassion and power that enable people to work together in a spirit of true harmony.

What Is Ananda Music?

The essence of Ananda music is its ability to lift us out of self-preoccupation and open us up to higher realities. For over thirty years, people have experienced the power of this music to transform states of restlessness or depression into calmness, hope and positive energy. Everyday challenges become, instead, opportunities!

Most of our music was composed by Swami Kriyananda (J. Donald Walters). According to Kriyananda, music is a language all its own. He composes by referring each note of a melody back to AUM, the cosmic vibration. As he says, "Inherent in this music are all the principles of (the spiritual) path. . . I can best express the feeling of holy upliftment that possessed me through music. Therefore I tell people, 'If you want to know me, listen to my music.'"

IT IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT ESPECIALLY FOR SPIRITUALLY GOOD PEOPLE.
SUCH CONTAMINANTS CAN DESTROY YOUR SPIRITUAL ATTAINMENTS, your aura etc. IN NO TIME.

Swine Flue PREVENTION

I do Jal Neti every morning; Swine Flue OR NOT- Tepid to warm water preferred.

I perform "Mukh Sammarjan" and "Mukh Prakshaalan" every morning prior to Jal Neti.

A very simple method, advised by my "Guroarshi", is to gently apply with index finger a couple of drops of pure coconut oil [ oily oil; Not the one adulterated with Liquid paraffin ] into each nostril.

This helps catch and hold any microscopic particles getting into the respiratory system.I use this every day before going out in public.

Improved version of above, especially for current difficult times is to use a plug of cotton soaked in few drops of coconut oil for each nostril.

I tried this and it works fine like a filter.Rremove these and clean nose every couple of hours.
